I’m fascinated by words, especially those words in other languages which have no comparable English equivalent.

Tonight, I bring you the Welsh noun hiraeth , which is defined as, “Homesickness tinged with grief or sadness over the lost or departed. It is a mix of longing, yearning, nostalgia and wistfulness.”

That’s how I’m feeling tonight.

Sad face.

Interesting piece here

The Portuguese have a similar word, ‘Saudades’ – the English language does not have a word like it really!
