Looking north across Beadnell bay this afternoon through a full-on northeastern haar.
It was like breathing sea. Everything sticky to the touch, and tasting of salt.
I got so fed up with wiping seaspray off the lenses of my glasses that I gave up, removed them, and walked on, myopically unfocussed, but experiencing a new clarity.

We stayed there several years ago and it is somewhere I’d love to go back to.
I haven’t been to Northumberland for years (only through it on the way to Edinburgh!) but I remember the beautiful beaches and the castles – would love to go there again.
