Can you ever truly convey a moment through words?

Helen told me how she heard the seals singing on Lindisfarne. And, y’know, I grasped that this was something pretty special. But I didn’t really truly understand until I heard it myself this afternoon. Different place, different time of day, different perception of the sound.

So why am I trying to use words to describe something so ineffable? Because words are all we have, even when they’re not up to the job. I can’t convey that experience to you, but maybe one day you’ll go amd seek it out for yourself.
