casting off

It is a truth universally acknowledged that I knit so I don’t kill people, particularly when stuck in (either physical or emotional) situations I perceive to be beyond my control.

This scarf kept me from harming my family or myself on a long hot drive down the A1 on Sunday, then calmed me through a sadmad few hours of Monday evening. As one of the many improbable things I believe is that it’s perfectly possible to knit in good thoughts, I started to worry just what kind of vibes the poor recipient was going to get from this one. So the knitting and I had a quiet hour out in the garden this evening, as the sun disappeared behind the trees, and the air cooled and dampened. Just sorting out that tension…
